Exhibition ‘Layers of Infinity’ by GORDAN NIKOLIĆ

New Moment Gallery was delighted to exhibit the works of Gordan Nikolić, an artist who is rarely exhibited even though he is a recipient of numerous awards. The solo exhibition “Layers of Infinity” by Gordan Nikolić was held on 24 March 2017.

“This selection of recent works by Gordan Nikolić mark a significant shift from previous concepts, namely there is an absence of recognizable motifs. He built his art practice around figurative painting with a focus on faces and masks, however, his recent works are abstract,” says prof. Ješa Denegri.

The selection of the exhibited works will be an opportunity to emphasize the author’s operative process, that is, his layered construction and further our understanding of the complex nature of Nikolic’s creativity.

The exhibition will be opened by prof. Dr. Vladimir Kostić, President of SANU and Professor of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade. The exhibition was on until 24 April.

Gordan Nikolic (1951) was born in Deževa near Novi Pazar. He graduated in 1982 and received his master’s degree in 1985 from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade under the tutelage of prof. He is a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Serbia (ULUS) and he is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. His works are in numerous national and international museums and private collections.
