Ksenija Divjak

KSENIJA DIVJAK (1924–1995) was born in Ivanić Grad in Croatia. During WWII she moved to Belgrade from Zagreb where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. She was a member of the Belgrade Group and Lada, and is among the most prominent painters of the first post-war generation. Through traditional modernism she strived for poetized illustration and intimacy. She exhibited in numerous independent and group exhibitions, including in Italy, USA and Japan, and her works are in many public and private collections.

In the Museum of Contemporary Art is the legacy of Ksenija Divjak, comprised of over 70 paintings and drawings gifted to the Museum by the artist.
