Slobodanka Stupar

SLOBODANKA STUPAR (Sarajevo, 1947) is a Serbian multimedia artist who lives and works between Belgrade-Athens-Cologne. She was a member of the Community Space Research Group 1983-1986.

Due to Slobodanka’s academic background she incorporates semantic and linguistic research and classical visual expression into her art.

She graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts (majoring in Interior Architecture and Graphics) in Belgrade. She received her masters in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. She attended the School of Fine Arts in Athens on a scholarship from the Greek Government.

She has exhibited in over 50 solo exhibitions in former Yugoslavia and abroad. She has won several national and international awards and recognitions, including, The National Museum Award at the Belgrade International Printmaking Biennial, Belgrade (1997), Award auf dem Festival Digitale Fotografie, Stuttgart (1999).
