Milija Belić

MILIJA BELIĆ (Beograd, 1954) is a prominent Serbian multimedia artist, whose artistic expression is based on constructivism, minimalism and geometrical art.

Starting with painting, later experimenting with sculpture, Milija is always looking for new media, which opens up new artistic horizons. He likes to point out that an integral part of an artwork is the idea behind it, which incorporates other domains of creativity – mathematics, science and philosophy.

He has written seven books. He has been a guest of honor at various world exhibitions, including the exhibition “Rhythm and geometry” in the Museum of the Town of Tartar, France, where Milija was the only Serbian artist invited to take part.

The sculpture of Arche (Gate), by Milija Belić, was placed at the entrance to the New Moment gallery, inspired by a meeting of artists in this house of ideas.
