Nemanja Mate Đorđević (Beograd, 1983) graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He has received numerous awards in the field of painting and drawing, including the award for the Promotion of Painting (2012) from the French Academy of Fine Arts.
The central theme of his art is man, that is, his degeneration and ruin. Virtuosic drawing, paintings of imagination and mysticism, his characters are embedded in human existence, and he openly speaks of the “permanent fall of man.” He prefers ‘ugly’ aesthetics, as a manifestation of mental and spiritual degeneration, that is, humans entering the dimension of the non-human.
